Integrated Accounting 150-Hour Professional Program
Students have the opportunity to earn both the Bachelor of Science and Master of Accountancy degrees upon completion of the required 150 credit hours of study. Students complete an integrated program of 120 hours of undergraduate credits and 30 hours of graduate credits.
Students declare their major at the end of the sophomore year. They enter the 150-Hour program at the beginning of the junior year and earn both degrees with a major in accounting and a concentration in information systems, finance and auditing, or another approved area of business. The 30-hour graduate credit requirement consists of ten courses, five of which may be electives outside of accounting. This program offering gives students the flexibility to design a broad program to support and enhance their individual career objectives. Electives can be chosen from several areas, including finance, information systems, management, international business or marketing.
Note: The 150-hour requirement to sit for the CPA exam took effect in Virginia in the year 2006.

Applying to the 150-Hour Professional Program
Guaranteed Admission to the 150-Hour Program:
Students can qualify for guaranteed admission in one of two ways:
1. Students who participate in the VCU University Honors Program and maintain the required scholastic standards throughout their freshman and sophomore years are guaranteed admission into the 150-Hour Master's Program at the end of their sophomore year.
2. Students who rank in the top 15 percent of their high school class or who have a minimum unweighted 3.0 GPA, have a minimum SAT score of 1260 obtained in a single sitting, and have a VCU undergraduate cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.5 at the end of their sophomore year are guaranteed admission.
Students applying to the program under the guaranteed admission option must complete an Application for Graduate Study, submit the $50 application fee, and provide documentation necessary to verify all aspects of the guaranteed admission criteria under which they apply.
Students who have not yet completed a bachelor's degree and are not eligible for guaranteed admission: Students currently pursuing their undergraduate degree who do not meet either of the criteria listed above for guaranteed admission must complete a full Application for Graduate Study. Admission decisions will be based on the student's cumulative grade point average at completion of the University Foundation Courses and Business Core Requirements and performance on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).
